How adorable does baby Blue look. She definitely looks like Beyonce, even there was rumours that they planned for a surrogate. But these pictures proved that Blue is definitely B and JayZ's daughter. Blue definitely has JayZ's lips.

For all of you who are wondering what Blue Ivy Carter means;

First, the name “Blue” is supposedly a tribute to Jay-Z, whose birth name is Shawn Carter. His franchise albums have been called “Blueprint.” Blue contains four letters, and Beyonce has a “love for the number four.” Blue was also the color used in Ancient Egypt to represent the heavens. It symbolizes inspiration, sincerity and spirituality.

The name “Ivy” comes from the plant that symbolizes eternity. Greek and Roman societies revered the ivy for its longevity and hardiness, according to information from GlobalGrind. It has represented eternal life in numerous religions.

According to Good Morning America, the couple chose the name “Ivy” because of the significance of the number “4″ or “IV.” Both Beyonce and Jay-Z were born on the fourth — Sept. 4 and Dec. 4, respectively. They were also married on April 4, 2008, and Beyonce’s latest album is ”4.”

Dubai Fashion's Longest Catwalk

Review: Options by Sanjeev Kapoor (Indian Cuisine Restaurant)

I love food and i do love experimenting on new ones. I have tasted Indian food before and I like it but not really a big fan of it. Our office decided that we should have a team lunch and voted to have some Indian food. I got nervous as to be quite honest, I have never really tried any Indian restaurants in my life (sad, I know lol)

So, our managing partner suggested that we have our lunch at Options by Sanjeev Kapoor: http://www.timeoutdubai.com/restaurants/reviews/1656-options

So the whole team went there at 1 pm and got settled in. The interiors are quite fancy and it just seemed like you are really in India. We had the set menu and I really dont know what food they were going to bring out (Check out the pictures above for the food that was served to us)

The food was excellent and I loved it. The service was good and servers knew what they were doing. All in all experience was superb and left us all, stuffed! :D

This post is about a look I did last4 days ago for my friends bday party. I thought i'd just keep it simple with a touch of color. I am very particular when I apply my make up, and I make sure its close to being flawless. When you have prep your skin well, have the right foundation and the right foundation brush, your face will be in tip top shape.

I just wanna stress that a ton of foundation in your face will not make your skin flawless. Its about knowing what to do and how to do it.

heres some tips that you could follow:

- never wear heavy foundation everyday as this will not allow your skin to breathe. Its very important that you let your skin rest so itll look healthy

- you need to use toners and cleansers of your choice so that your skins elasticity will be maintained

- moisturizers is more advisable at night as the skin takes it in more than at day time

-do not forget to remove your make up before you sleep. Its very unhealthy for the skin to have it overnight

-wash your face with cold water with lime slices or lemon. It helps the skin regain its normal state and the elasticity of it

- do not forget to clean your make up brushes as this could cause irritation to your skin.

- use lip conditioner/lip bams.

- mascaras are only good for the maximum of 3 months after that you should throw it.

I hope these tips will help you out. Dont forget that less is more ;-)

Oh my goodness. I know I have not been active on my blog since I dont know when (lol), but hopefully that will change. First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and I hope you had a safe and fun new years. Alot has happened since I last posted on my blog. First is, I have dyed my hair red and I had it cut too (so exciting).

Spent new years with family and friends and it was fun. I dont have any new years resolution as I think its just overrated now, lol. Anyways, I hope to be more active on this blog and once again thank you for the follows and the reads.

I have tested possibly all lotions that is in the supermarket and nothing really impressed me. I am a big fan of a product that can really give me deep moisture and that will last for at least 12-16 hours. For me, It is important that I have something that will make my skin feel smooth and fresh.

Dove Beauty Body Milk lotion is my holy grail when it comes to lotions. Trust me when I say that this lotion does moisturize your skin and stays for at least24 hours. I love the scent and the texture of this lotion. I dont think I would ever buy another lotion and would gladly just stick to this. Also, its very affordable

I will admit that I am obsessed with scrubs and exfoliating my whole body. Now, i dont do this everyday. I exfoliate my whole body once a week and trust me, this can take me at least 20 minutes as I really go through each part of my body.

For the past 2 weeks I have noticed a big change in the appearance of my skin. It looks more healthier, feels much more smoother and dry skin is gone.

The amazing thing about this, you are not going to spend a lot of money. I love how my skin feels now and I am sure it is loving the product that I am using now.

This product is called The Yogurt Spa Milk Salt. My mum got it over a local supermarket and never did open it, till I did a test run with it. I must say, for a very low cost this product works wonders with me. Since I have a very dry skin, this products works perfectly fine.

I just want to stress that this may not work for everyone as we all have different types of skin and may cause allergies. So my advice is, to put a small amount at the back of your hand and see if it causes a reaction in about after 20 minutes.

This scrub is definitely one of the products I wont be able to live without as it just works wonders.

What an awesome news today from one of my favourite MUA in the world. Rae Morris just announced this very moment that after 2 years of development, the brushes are in full production. How fabulous is this?

According to her blog:

LIP CONDITIONER!

I can not stress enough how I need to condition and moisture my body everyday. I just want to share with you my favourite lip conditioner and its the; Fuschia fix tinted lip conditioner SPF 15 by MAC.

Seriously, this stuff works amazing with my lips and after a minute or two my lips just becomes so soft. Its also tinted which means, it gives your lips that natural pinkish colour. It also smells really good and taste like strawberry/cherry.

I love this lil fella that I have 2 of them ;-)

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CONCEALER!

There is alot of concealer products in the market and most times we just dont know what to buy. The questions we face are; is this the right shade? is this going to cover my spot, my under eye circles? etc etc...

Here are some tips in buying the right concealer:

- Always buy a highly densely pigmented concealers, as you can always blend them down. A trick that I learned is to use a red felt pen to draw a tiny red circle on the back of your hand, then go to a department store. Try different concealers until you find one that can cover that red spot completely and still leave your skin looking like skin.

- Any make up that is lighter than your skin's natural shade will highlight and raise indentations, while any make up that is darker than your skin's natural shade will have the opposite effect- it will flatten.

- If you're covering a scar or deep dark circles under your eyes, or anything that sits below the skin's surface, such as a hole or dint, choose a concealer that's one to two shades paler than your foundation.

- On the other hand, if you're concealing a blemish or a mole or a raised imperfection; in other words, something that's above the skin's surface, you need to choose a concealer that is the exact shade of your foundation, maybe even half a shade darker, so that it will flatten and minimize. Using a light concealer on a blemish will actually highlight it!

SCRUB AWAY!!!

A girl with a really dry skin, I am always looking for a body scrub that will make my skin smooth and fresh. I have always been a fan of St Ives Apricot scrub for my face and I just recently discovered their body scrub and I LOVE IT!!

I exfoliate my body once a week as I dont wanna abuse my skin with excessive exfoliation. I use this body scrub during my shower and let it stay on for at least 2 minutes. I love how this scrub makes my skin so smooth and renewed. It also smells so good.

You can get this product in any local supermarket for not more than 30 aed (I got this for 25 Aed if I am not mistaken)

Definitely a must try as its very affordable and works really good

MASCARA & EYELASHES- Falsies and Natural

I love getting different kinds of mascaras and try them on. I am always on the verge to finding the one that can volumize my almost non existent eyelashes (lol). Sometimes I get frustrated in applying them so I turn into my trustee false lashes.

I dont wear false lashes everyday. I have nothing against women who does, but I think doin so is harming your natural lashes. We also tend to forget to show care for our natural lashes.

Below are some key points I would like to share on how to take care of your mascara, your natural lashes and your falsies:

1. When looking for a mascara it is good to know what you really need. Trust me, brand has nothing to do with a good mascara. I dont believe in the theory of; 'The more expensive it is, the better it'll work'. Look what your lashes need. Does it need lengthening? Volumizing? etc.. There is nothing wrong in spending some good time in choosing your mascara (as this can be crucial sometimes).

2. Mascaras are only good for not more than 3 months. Do not keep masacaras longer than 3 months as you may get an eye infection. Mascaras create bacteria inside as the time goes by. It is also recommended not to share the wand with your friends as it will increase the chances of bacteria in your mascara. Instead, get a disposable wand.

3. Also, do not pump your mascara as it will get air in it and it can dry out the mascara quickly.

4. Our natural eyelashes needs care and its imperative to do so. Get a drop of olive oil and massage it on your lashes for a good 1 minute. Olive oil will help the lashes sooth out and get its natural flair back.

5. Falsies depending on the brand could be used 3-5 times (also depends on how you take care of it) I use mine 5 times maximum and I throw it away. It is also imperative to keep your falsies on a container or the box it came from for a later use. I soak my lashes on a bowl with a drop of my make up remover and olive oil. After 5 minutes I rinse it off with a luke warm water and put it back to its case

I have been a fan of Coastal Scents for quite awhile now. simply because their products are good and affordable. I recently just got the Eclipse Concealer Palette by Coastal Scents and I must say it is good and better than the 1st concealer palette.

The eclipse palette is more creamier and much more easier to apply. I am very pleased about it because I have been looking for a very good but affordable concealers, and I think I just found it. I know there's alot of concealers in the market, but i'll stick to this for now ;-)

It will be creamy but once you have applied it, it will be in a form of powder finish. Seriously, the quality of CS Eclipse palette is not far from my NW 25 and NC 20 studio sculpt concealer from MAC.

I also like that I have different shades of concealer in this one handy palette. Easy for travelling ;-)

ME LOVES LASHES

I am currently using the 5th one (blonde short hair)

I am a huge fan of false lashes, simply because I have almost a non existent one lol. It took me for awhile to properly put my falsies but now I think I've nailed it ;-)

Was shopping with my mum last week and we passed by New Look store in Dubai Mall. While we were queuing, I spotted false lashes and the brand is called Girls Aloud (the infamous girl group who is leaded by Cheryl Cole)

I saw it and thought, hmm that looks nice. Im a sucker for full dramatic falsies and if its lightweight, then its so much better. I bought one pack to start with and just try them, and oh boy it is FAB!

Its super lightweight and it gives so much emphasis to your eyes. My mum wore it and it made such a huge difference in her eyes. I am in love with this lashes at the moment and wont hesitate to get more.

I love doing photo shoots and I love painting faces. It calms me and Im on this whole vibe when I do it. You just know when you're passionate about something, is when you enjoy what you do and it gives you such a satisfaction.

In this shoot, I got inspired of the True Blood posters and I really did want to re create looks from it. The photographer here is Gabby Yap and I did the hair and make up with the assistance of Nerissa for hair from Salon Chic.

TOP 20 BEAUTES

Right, I admit that I have a a lot of beauty products and for some people it is quite ridiculous to have them. Friends call me vain and I don't think there's anything wrong with being vain. I love to take care of myself and will not hesitate to try out new products every now and then.

In this post, I will list down my top 20 necessities for my everyday survival in this world haha. In no particular order I have made a collage of the beauty products/tools that I absolutely should have in my beauty kit.

1. Lip Balm- I use the same lip balm on the picture and its by MAC. I really love it as it conditions my lips so well and adds a tint of pinkish red. Sometimes, when I dont have any lipgloss in my purse I quickly dab this lil fella on and viola. I have 3 of these lipbalms and I made sure I have one in the office at home and my purse ;-)

2. Hair straightener- FYI. I don't use hair straighteners everyday as it will damage my hair completely, I believe. What I do is after I shower I let my hair air dry and after, I use my hair straightener. Some girls blow dry their hair and straighten them, which I believe increases the hair damage. I need to have a straightener for a quick fix with my hair. I have braun, philips, herstyler and babyliss and they are all GREAT!

3. Mascara- I think mascara is a must have on every girls beauty kit as it does make a difference in your eyes and can change your droopy/sleepy look to a much more awake appearance. I have at least 6-10 different kinds of mascaras at home, simply because I love experimenting with them and they are different brushes and formula. I usually apply 4 coats of mascara if I am not using false lashes. As an Asian, my lashes are almost non existent , so I need a very good coverage.

4. Moisturizer- this is like water for me. I need to have my moisturizer everywhere I go, simply because my skin is just really dry. I have the same moisturizer in the picture and it's the MAC studio cream moisturizer and it really works for me. I have 3 different kinds of moisturizer at home for a back up in case my fave one gets finished. I put quite a heavy amount of moisturizer on my face before I sleep as its been proven that your skin acts like a sponge at night and it develops more into your skin.

5. Hair dryer- need to have this tool as I cannot stand going out of my house with my hair wet. I have seen girls often do this and I think its somehow laziness or they don't own a hair dryer. Walking out of your house with your hair wet not only damages it but attracts more dirty particles in the air. Its ok to go out the house with a slightly damp hair but not all in all wet hair. Its a must for me to dry my hair before stepping out of the house. I also use hair protection sprays before I blow dry my hair.

6. Eyeliner- I am a big fan of eyeliner simply because I love doing cat liners and smokey looks. I have different kinds of liner; Smudge proof, water proof, kohls etc... I do wear eyeliners everyday so that I can just have a simple edge to my look without having to wear lots of products.

7. Foundation- now, this is the most important part of my beauty kit and I have it in liquid and in cream. As a make up artist I also have a variety of shades and brands. My foundations are MUFE, MAC, Graftobian, Revlon, Kryolan and Chanel. Also, foundation acts as a sunblock and helps protect your face from the harmful rays of the sun. My favourite foundation at the moment is MUFE HD foundation in Shade 117 :)

8. Make up remover- I will always have a make up remover in my kit no matter what. I hate when I don't get to remove my make up at night as it just feel very heavy on my skin. Remember, our skin needs to breathe. I consume a lot of make up remover in a month and I mean 2 bottles of 250 ml of make up remover. I know that's quite alot for some of you, but I really don't stop until the cotton pads I use doesn't have a color on it.

9. Hair brush- I have different kids of hair brush for different purposes. My ideal hair brushes should have soft bristles and good grip. I always carry a small hair brush in my bag as my hair can get a little tangled every now and then since its super straight.

10. Powder blush- must have this as this could give you a glow instantly. I love pinkish, peachy and golden blushes.

11. Black Eyeshadow- one color says it all. This is the color that can give you an ultimate sexy eye look. If i can carry one eye shadow color from my kit, it will be black. I use one from MUFE and MAC

12. Exfoliate- exfoliating is a must for me and I do it once a week. It removes excess dirt that make up removers cant remove. It also helps you clear your pores (theres nothing more gross than a large black pores) I use one from Clinique, soap and glory and Bioderma.

13. Tweezers- sometimes I do not have the time to to go at the salon, so a tweezer is a helpful tool to shape your eyebrow's and remove hair in your upper lip ( a mustache in a woman is not attractive) It can also be a tool to put your false lashes

14. Lipgloss- well who doesnt like lipgloss. To be honest, I use more lipgloss than lipstick. Lipstick when use for a while can darken your lips. Also, lipgloss nowadays are so pigmented you dont have to wear lipsticks. I always have a lipgloss or 2 in my purse.

15. Vaseline- I have to carry this with me at all times as my skin gets very dried and I use this to condition my tattoos

16. Lotion- Just an everyday essential in my life. I need to soak into lotion as my skin is just very dry. I use dove milk lotion and its very good. It stays on for at least 12 hours and its just amazing.

17. False Lashes- I love false lashes and I like the dramatic ones. Since I dont have thick eyelashes and sometimes mascaras are just frustrating, I use false lashes. I put false lash, 2 coats of mascara after, an eyeliner, blush, lipgloss and I am good to go.

18. Curling iron- i am a fan of curls and I make it a point that I do it whenever im out for a fun night. Curling my hair can take ma at least an hour and a half because I am not a pro in doing it to my own hair lol.

19. Eyelash curler- Need this in my beauty kit and I also have 4 of it with me. When I get lazy in putting my false lashes, this is my bestfriend with volumuzing mascaras

20. Concealer- I dont have dark circles but its a must for me to have a concealer. I can wear pressed powders and concealers only an I am good to go. Also, concealers can hide the boo boo's in your face haha

First of all I would like to say thank you to Braun for giving me this privilege to test their products and its such an honor that I could blog about it too. I have been a user of Braun since I have learned how to style and do my hair which is like 5-6 years ago. Me being a high maintenance girl, i always go to the mall or beauty counters and check what will be a good hair tool.

This product that I will be talking about is my 4th hair straightener that I own and those 4 are different brands. Can I say that out of those 4 I probably have 2 of the best straighteners ;-)

Braun Satin Hair Straightener with Iontec is surprisingly very good. It heats up quite fast and doesnt burn your hair like other hair straighteners that I have used. Its very light weight and easy to use and has a 360 degrees cord that will help you style your hair without the hassle of tying the cable around your arms. The plate of this straightener is also very different from the other straighteners I have used. It is somehow very smooth when you use it in your hair.

I also like the grip of this straightener and the build of this product. It definitely does make you hair shiny which is always good ;-) I also like the 2 small green nozzles at the back of the plate where a lil air comes out. It does help in balancing the heat of the plate and as per the box thats what the Iontec is.

I am not too sure if this product would work on a very thick hair as it doesnt really get that hot. But I might be wrong.

Theres nothing bad that I can say about this product as it just works perfectly fine and says whats on the box. My hair loves it ;-)

It wont be cold anytime soon in Dubai and my face is just super dry at the moment. I really do not like summer in Dubai, It's nothing but heat and humidity. My everyday regime during summer is to pack on some moisture in my whole body, face and neck.

I have stopped using primer for my face for awhile now and switched to something else. This cream adds glow to your face instantly and I love it. Its the strobe cream hydrant luminex from MAC that I got a couple of months back (i just started using it last week).

I put a small amount (pea size) on both cheeks and forehead and spread it evenly and let it on for 5 minutes before I apply my foundation. It keeps my face hydrated and add a glow to my face. And for some reason, my make up last longer. I dont recommend this product for oily faces as it will add more shine and will just make your face look really greasy.

Just loving this product at the moment. You can get it from any MAC store ;-)

I havent blogged lately and maybe because I have been procrastinating alot lately and I have no inspiration to blog (bad me). So I thought, why not blog about my recent trip in Singapore, its only fair that I share with you about my amazing trip in this wonderful place. I just love Singapore and everything that makes it. The people, the places, the food and their lush greenery environment.

I have noticed that people in Singapore are so relax and calmed. For some reason I didnt feel the hectic life that I am experiencing here in Dubai. Weather was lovely too, even though it showered for an hour or two everyday, but thats fine with me because I love the rain. Me being asian, I definitely enjoyed the food in the spots me and my boyf went to. I tried the famous chicken rice everyone was talking about hehe. Above are the pictures of my recent trip and where we went during those 10 days in Singapore.

Right! Summer is definitely in Dubai and how much i dislike it. Simply because all you get is sand and humid. Its not like the summer from Miami or Cali. The worst enemy for your hair is the sand, humidity and heat of the summer. When I say heat, it can get over 50 degrees Celsius here in Dubai. Also, the water here is so strong that if you wash your hair everyday, you can get bald. SO I wash mine every other day but shower everyday ;-)

If you care about your hair then you must take care of it by all means necessary. In this post I will note down the important notes in how you can take care of your hair and show you what stuff I use for my hair after washing them.

* Its very important you condition your hair by using your favourite conditioner. You must start from the roots of your hair till half way as your scalp produces enough oil for and plus you dont wanna get bald easily lol. I use Pantene and Dove conditioner

* Make sure you use the right shampoo for your hair type. Spend some time in choosing your hair shampoo when you visit your local supermarket. I will stand in that section for about 20 minutes reading labels. Just for your curiosity I use Dove shampoo and Loreal Elvive for my damaged hair.

* After washing your hair make sure you use a spray/serum of any kind for mending split ends. It doesnt matter if you have them or not. Prevention is the key.

* Dont get the habit of blow drying your hair everyday as it will definitely ruin it. Thats why I mentioned I wash my hair every other day and not everyday. This gives your hair the time to breathe.

* Before blow drying your hair make sure you use a heat protectant. Its very important that you spray/apply this before using hair tools.

* Visit your salon twice a month for a hair treatment. Your hair needs loving too ;-)

* Trim the ends of your hair once a month so it could grow into a much healthier form. We don't want to see those split ends.

* Also, you can use a leave on conditioner for your hair, but make sure you apply it evenly and not too much as your hair could be greasy

* If you can, have your hair washed with cold water so your scalp will be relaxed. Trust me, it feels so good. (FYI, I only take cold showers)

Above: I can not live without this. My MAC moisturizer is my all time favourite as it does my dry skin justice. I use this alternatively from my Lierac moisturizer

Above: Love this moisturizer as it really does moisturize my skin very well. I apply this every other night and my face and neck just loves it. It stays on till the morning.

Above: The fab pore from soap and glory. I love this facial mask as it leaves my skin spotless from the dirt. I only use this once a week and i love how my skin feels after it.

Above: Another eye cream I discovered just 2 nights ago is from No7 skin care line. I love No7 products as it works very well for me. I apply this every night as well on top of the botanics eye cream. I know it sounds too much but I do not put alot of product.

Above: The pore minimizer from Clinique is just great. When I apply this one, my face just seem pore less and it works just fine. I apply this every other day only in the morning before I apply my foundation.

Above: from boots pharmacy again is the botanics eye cream. I love this eye cream as its very creamy and leaves a smooth finish. I apply them everynight as its very important my under eye gets the care it needs. FYI moisturizer and eye cream are both different. Moisturizer can moisture your whole face but an eye cream is still needed.

Above: I got this facial scrub from Boots Pharmacy ( I LOVE THAT PLACE) Tea tree and witch hazel are the top ingredients to have on your skin. This facial scrub is very soothing and it does the job. I use this twice a week as scrubbing your face everyday is not GOOD as the skin will be irritated when it gets harassed by facial scrubs.

Above: My all time favourite make up remover is by L'oreal. I love this product as it gets off everything from your lips and eyes. It takes off even waterproof make up. It doesnt have that stingy feeling in your eye when you remove your make up, which is by the way an essential part of a make up remover is to not have that stingy feeling.

I think my skin care has changed 3 times in the past year, this is because I always discover other products that I start to love. In this post, I will show you what products I put on my face and when I use them. Take note I have a very dry skin and sometimes combination, thats why if you observe the above pictures, I have 2 eye creams and 2 moisturizer.

Also, if you are planning on buying these products, I can not guarantee it will work as good in your skin.

Re Using Fake Lashes

OK! Nothing annoys me more than seeing fake lashes on ladies that are all clump up and have dried out glue because they have re used so many times. Its is UNHYGIENIC and not attractive. In this post I would like to share you some tips on how to clean and maintain your fake eyelashes so you can re use them at least 5 times maximum.

1. When taking off your lashes be very gentle with it as your natural lashes can come out with it.

2. After using your fake lashes you can soak them in a luke warm water with a drop of olive oil or your favourite liquid make up remover (I use Loreal make up remover for this). Let this stay on for at least 20 minutes

3. After soaking your lashes with luke warm water, you will see that the glue will turn into a white sticky material. You can use your tweezer or your hands to take this off. Make sure to be very gentle as you dont want to ruin your fake lashes.

4. After taking off the white goo, wipe your lashes with a tissue with a drop of olive oil or make up remover so you can properly clean them. I know that we all use mascara after applying our fake lashes, so its very imperative to wipe the fake lashes properly and leave no traces of the mascara or any dirt.

5. Last but not the least, when you buy your fake lashes make sure you keep the box that came with it, so you can put the lashes back in and keep its original form.

Now, let me say that there is nothing wrong in wearing fake lashes everyday (I dont personally do it) it's better than having your natural lashes glued by individual hairs at the salon. I have tried it and it damaged my natural lashes. Its imperative to have your fake lashes clean as its something that you put on your eye.

BRONZING

Right! Summer is definitely back in Dubai and most of us will want to have that bronzy and golden skin tone and colour. Some of us do not have the luxury of sun bathing and getting that FAB tan. In this post I will discuss a few points in how to achieve good tan effect with the use of your bronzer.

The aim of bronzing is to make you look like as if you just came from a very relaxing and a nice holiday. Not like you just rolled in a bag of cheetos. Bronzer, especially in the powdered blush forms, is meant for skin that really has a slight natural tan-in other words, to ENHANCE what you already have. Using it on a PALE skin doesnt make you look TANNED- it makes you look like you have 2 big orange doughnuts on your FACE.

A true TAN have VARIOUS tones, because your skin doesnt tan EVENLY, with the nose and forehead generally tanning up to 2 shades darker than the rest of your face. Yet some women APPLY powdered bronze evenly (and often HEAVILY) all over their face, because they think it gives them more colour. Well it does-a muddy brown one.

So, here's how to bronze:

1. In a perfect world go to a salon and get a spray tan. And yes have your FACE tanned as well.

2. If you have PALE skin, dont use BRONZER straight on your skin. However if you must, mix a little with your blush colour. Women with pale skin should stick to peachy pinkish blushes, not brown, because the LATTER is too dark and heavy, making their skin look dirty.

3. Know your bronzing limit- choose a bronzer that is only a few shades darker than your natural skin tone. For example, if you have light skin, choose SUBTLE shades (such as the colour of bamboo); for MEDIUM skin, go for terracotta; and for DARK skin, choose deep tan shades.

4. If you're using a powdered bronzer, avoid PACHINESS by first lightly DUSTING your face with TRANSLUCENT powder. This will help with blending. However, if you wish to use a cream bronzer, just apply it directly onto CLEANSED skin or straight on top of your liquid or cream based foundation.

BRONZING TIPS:

* for a light, even finish, always apply bronzer with a clean brush

*Be careful when applying a bronzer around your jawline because if you over do it youll look like you have a very deep shadow

*Don't use shimmery bronzers if you have EXCESSIVELY OILY skin or fine lines. Instead, opt for a MATTE version

*Make sure you BLEND your bronzers down to your NECK area-dont stop at your JAWLINE. Your neck is always PALER than your face because your CHIN shades it from the SUN.

*Before you apply a bronzer, add a hint of rose coloured blush to your cheeks to give a natural healthy look

*Check the SHELF life of a product

Last thing. Make sure you prep your skin very well before putting in any foundation and bronzer.

My lovely friends :)

This is my 1st time to attend the prestigious event of Illustrado, The Women of Substance. I was nervous and excited at the same time, because I was part of a mini documentary film discussing a very sensitive subject about relationship and the 3 letter word, sex (lol). All I can say is the event went well and I did enjoy my day with my good friends and meeting with new people. Photographers, models, designers, honorees for Women of Substance 2011. I think the event was organized and was well coordinated.

I loved the set up of the Godolphin Ballroom and the stage was well presented. However, I think that most of the ladies that attended that event, still need to know how to dress according to the event. I saw some women who were dressed like they were going to the beach and in a bar. I am not a genius to dressing up, but its not rocket science that its an afternoon event and a skimpy short dress with your cleavage out is a NO NO!

All in all this event was a success. Well done to the team of Illustrado. Next year, I hope will be more fab :)

HIGHLIGHT!

We all want that glow in our skin. Not the full face but in the proper parts of it. Highlighting can be quite tricky as some people over do it. by reading several books I have learned the do's and the dont's of highlighting and now I am going to share this to you.

The Do's and Don'ts of highlighting:

1. Never use white or silver greys to highlight your skin. Only use these colours for highlighting the inner corner of your eyes

2. When highlighting your cupids bow (this is to make your lips fuller without the use of lip liners, Rae Morris swore that she only used lip liners maybe twice in her whole make up career), make sure this are is hair free as we dont wanna highlight mustaches.

3. Avoid highlighters that reflect purple tones: always check your product on the back of your hand to make sure there are no purple/pink reflections, which are used in special effects to make actors look like they are dead-obviously not a good look! These tones are hard to see but very common in powdery mineral foundations.

4. If your brow is slightly hooded, or if you have a prominent brow bone, don't draw attention to this area by highlighting it. The general rule: NEVER highlight something you dont want people to look at!

6. Never use a frosty white eye shadow, and never highlight you whole brow bone.

Where to highlight:

1. For youthful, wrinkle- free skin, you can luminise all over. Just add a few drops of luminising liquid to your base.

2. I believe everybody should highlight the inner corners of their eyes, which rarely wrinkle as we age. It's a great way to bring life and light into your eyes, and also to awaken tired eyes. However, it's essential to choose a highlighter that matches your skin tone.

Calling all oily skin ladies! If you are looking for a matte primer for your greasy skin (hehe) this is the primer for you. I have a few of NO 7 products with me and they are good. I recently saw this primer from a make up guru in youtube that I follow and she recommended this primer.

It does the job and it's a very good primer. I got it at our local mall in boots pharmacy ( i love BOOTS) I know I have mentioned that I love Loreal Studio Secrets primer, but I found my new love ;-) This is also cheaper than Loreal and contains more product. It is also a handy lil fella as you can put it in your purse.

I personally think this is very good for a combination skin as well. Summer is around the corner for us here in Dubai, and if you wanna have your make up in place, I will get this primer.

LA FEMME Blush Palette!

I have been looking for a good and affordable blush palette and I have found it. I have been seeing reviews and videos about the La Femme Blushes and I thought I'd try it. These blushes are well pigmented and it applies very smoothly. I got it at www.makeupmania.com

The palette comes in 12 colors and they are a good size. I only wish it came with a mirror and that the palette could have been more properly thought out.

I also do like the fact that La Femme offers loud and wild colors as a blush. As you can see in the pictures above there is a black blush hehe.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! All I can say about this palette is that I love it! Its creamy and the texture of the foundation is spot on. A little goes along way with this foundation. I got my palette at www.makeupmania.com.

Its from medium to heavy coverage depending on how much you appply. It's very easy to blend as well. As you can see in the photo above, it caters to all different kinds of skin tone. This palette also saves you space from your make up kit. I do recommend this foundation to people who have dry skin as I feel like it moisturizes the skin as well.

I also love this palette as it comes with a mirror. Seriously, when you have this palette this is all you'll be needing in your trip ;-)

Probably the most talked about beauty sponge is the Beauty Blender. I couldnt wait to get my hands on these cute sponges (so happy that they are pink as well lol). I have been seeing alot of reviews about them and articles, so I decided to give it a shot and try it for myself.

I have nothing but love for this product. It makes foundation application easy and seemless. The bouncing technique makes the foundation easier to blend, and it;s not hard to clean. It is worth 39.95$ (but i know some of you will find it expensive). It absorbs water very well and application of foundation is also recommendeed when the sponge is quite damp.

I personally think that these sponges works very well in liquid foundation and not quite sure about the cream foundations. Dont get me wrong, it works well for both foundations, but I just seem to find it easier to work with liquid foundation rather than the cream one.

The downside of this product is the awful smell of the cleanser. It has this really strong ginger smell that I cant stand when I clean the sponges. All in all, I love Beauty Blender and I am glad I got the pack of 2 sponges and a cleanser

Dubai Pet show was a really good show and what an amazing day it was. Surrounded by other dogs and of course our 3 babies, it was a very lovely day. Weather was perfect and everyone was just having a good time. Our pups Rags and Fifi joined the competition but unfortunately didnt win (there's always next time) Our 3 pups definitely caught the peoples attention because they were really friendly and sweet. Also, they were wearing really cute shirts ;-). Organizers did a good job in this event and I cant wait again for next year.

This will be the 1st time I will ever try Mikyajy make up. Mikyajy is Make up in Arabic and I do believe these are only available in the GCC country and not anywhere else. While walking with a friend in the mall. We decided to look for make ups and what is hot at the moment. We came across L'oreal and she told me that I had to get the new primer from L'oreal. I did get it because I trust her recommendation. Oh boy, was I happy to get this lil fella. L'oreal Studio Secrets Professional is the new innovative primer from L'oreal. It just doesn't make your skin poreless but it makes it smooth and leave a satin feeling to it. This is by far my favourite primer at the moment as it compliments my skin very well.

L'oreal being a drugstore product did a good job on this one. However, I think its quite expensive for the size of it. We got it for 26 dollars/96 Aed and for a drugstore product this is quite pricey. After using this primer with my Kryolan TV paint stick, I have been getting a lot of compliments that my face looks fresh and poreless. This is a must have primer in your kit. Also, i like the packaging as it will fit perfectly in your purse ;-)

So like almost 3 times a week I get an email shot from the famous online cosmetics Coastal Scents (http://www.coastalscents.com/) Couldnt help but to click on their January promo which was a 3 palette combo (fall festival, think pink and winterberry) for only 59.95$ or 220 Aed. I must say Coastal Scents never fails me when it comes to their palettes. Very affordable and theya re highly pigmented eye shadows (except for the think pink palette). Just got them yesterday and I absolutely love it. The shadows in these palettes have a very good pay off of colour and you wont be disappointed. Check the photos above ;-)

The 150 thousand pounds playhouse. 2 lucky kids woke up to a very exciting and expensive play house. Now, this is what I call going to the edge.

The super-sized Wendy House was custom built by a British firm for a Swiss businessman.
The extravagant two-storey gift comes complete with under-floor heating, double glazing, solid pine flooring and 400 decorative bulbs. The timber house — which also boasts four beds and a fully-fitted miniature KITCHEN including a fridge and hob — is an exact replica of the family's chalet in the foothills of the Swiss alps. Building it soaked up 2,000 man hours while up to £50,000 was spent on transporting the materials and installing it — making it the world's most expensive playhouse.

Russell Bowlby, owner of play equipment firm Flights of Fantasy, led the craftsmen who hand-built it in North Lynn, Norfolk. He said: "It is a complex structure and will have to withstand some very cold temperatures. When I went over it was -17C (1F).
"We have insulated the chalet and installed under-floor heating and booster heaters, so the kids will be as warm as toast. "It's different and very special and the finished playhouse is really a work of art as well as a wonderful toy." The whole structure is 3.6m tall and took ten craftsmen five weeks to construct from 4,000m of pine wood planks. Above: Bronzer #2. If you're looking for a matte bronzer this is not the one for you. It is actually very shimmery with golden bronze effect. Its not for everyday use as well. Its nice if you want that shimmer effect in your body and face.

Tips for Christmas Dinner/Eve party!

Make up. Another one of my favourite look is the dramatic red lips and plain canvass eyes and cheeks with a hint of brown. I know not everyone can wear red lipstick (it doesnt even really suit me) It takes some time to get used to it. But for me, I think this is perfect for a dinner then off to a party

Make up. Smokey eyes will never go out of the make up looks. I love this look simply because it is not dramatic nor intense but has some edge to it. Smokey eyes, peach cheeks and nude lips. Its just perfect

Hair. Now, I am not saying your hair should look like this. However, your hair should be well trimmed and taken care of. Go to your favourite salon and have your hair well managed in no time. Hair also shows if a person is healthy and takes care of herself well.

Manicure. This also is a must for us ladies. Make sure your nails are well presented and clean, not only for Christmas but everyday. Your nails will tell people how clean you are with yourself .

Pedicure. Nothing more ugly than a dry and unpolished feet. Have some time to soak your feet in luke warm water for 20 minutes with salt and a teaspoon of olive oil if you cant be asked to go to the salon. Pedicure is a must, so book your favourite pedicure place.

Massage. It'll be a very good feeling to have a massage after a tiring week/day. Massage will definitely make you stress free and relax. So go ahead and pamper yourself.

Facial: I canot stress enough how your face should be absolutely fresh and clean. Make sure you book a facial session to your favourite salon or spa place. Facial also gives you a clean canvass for putting on your make up.

Having no facebook in the office makes me bored (kidding) So, in this post I have decided to share what us women should prepared for the Christmas Dinner/Eve party. Christmas gathering is also an excuse for us fine ladies to dress up and look our gorgeous selves. Above are the list of ideas you can/need to do, to look absolutely best for Christmas gathering.

I can't believe that in a few days we will say goodbye to 2010. It has been such an amazing year for me and definitely was a roller coaster ride. There has been definitely some ups and downs, laughter, sadness, disappointments and fun times. Achieved new careers, made friends and made enemies. I will be saying goodbye to 2010 with no regrets and will be facing 2011 with new hope, faith and encouragement. Christmas is the season to be jolly, to be giving, to forgive and to love. I cannot wait to celebrate Christmas with my family, my boyfriend and my good friends.

Christmas reminds us we are not alone. We are not unrelated atoms, bouncing and ricochetin amid aliens, but are a part of something, which holds and sustains us. As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December's bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the same. Christmas shows us the ties that bind us together, threads of love and caring, woven in the simplest and strongest way within the family.

Totally off topic but I cant resist but to blog about the new look of the peso bills (Philippine Money) Personally for me, I like it. It sort of looks like Euro money to me and the colours are nice ( the colours for 100,500 and 1000 remained the same) They also joined Cory with Ninoy Aquino in the 500 peso bill, which I think is nice.

The most ridiculous comment I saw was; how come Kris Aquino and Pacquiao were not included in the peso bill? haha.

NYX: From left. Babydoll, Sugar Pie and Dusty Rose. If you cant afford MAC lipgloss or find it too expensive then you should definitely try NYX products as they are cheap but amazing pay off. These lipgloss are very nice and its actually like a lipstick and gloss in one ;-)

Smashbox: Make up Artist Palette. This is the 1st time I have tried any Smashbox palette and their eyeshadows are quite good. I dont know if all smashbox eyeshadows are like these but these ones I have are not that pigmented.

MAC: Cremesheen Lipglass, Richer Lusher colour. A very nice beige matte lipgloss that you can definitely wear everyday.

MAC: Cremesheen Lipglass. Loud and Lovely. A very nice loud pink lipgloss that stays on smoothly and has a nice pay off with the colour.

MAC Lipstick: Pro Longwear Lipcreme. Prolong colour. A very nice red shade which glided on really well. A true red colour

MAC Lipstick: Pro Longwear Lipcreme. Goes and Goes color. A very nice purple colour.

MAC Lipstick: Pro longwear lipcreme.Love Forever color. This pink is absolutely gorgeous with a hint of blue pink when applied. These lipsticks are easy to apply and very creamy. It glides on really well. I am not too sure about the staying power of these lipsticks as I have not worn them out yet. But will update you once I do :-)

MAC Lipstick: Pink Nouveau. A nice baby pink color with a distinct fuschia tint when applied.

MAC Lipstick: Saint Germain. I know this is kinda old and has been reviewed alot of times, but I am absolutely loving this pastel pink shade.

So lately I have been obsessing with lipsticks and lipgloss. Cant help myself to purchasing these products and I must say they are not disappointing and definitely worth the money. Above pictures are purchased by me and the products are MAC (online) NYX (local shopping mall) and Smash box (faces)

Was browsing through my fave make up gurus and I stumbled upon Michelle Pan's video. I saw her latest one where she is talking about designing your own shoes and could purchase them after. I have always wanted a specific design, texture and color for my shoes. I must admit they are pricey but from the looks of it, its a nice quality. Imagine walking down that street with the shoes that you designed, its just fab. Above photos are the screen shots of the shoes I just played and designed 10 minutes ago. I could only take screen shots as I was technically challenged lol. So go on and get your creativity flowing.

Ive been thinking what I could put on my shock of the week post for this blog. Then I came across this magazine on our magazine desk in the office and I saw Oprahs face plastered in the cover of FT weekend magazine. The before and after

So, I will start a post in my blog and entitle it Shock of the week. Every week I'll be posting something that is shocking or surprising that is related to beauty, health, make up and beauty products. I may be late on this one but im in awe on how stunning and gorgeous Jennifer Hudson looks like after she has lost 50 pounds. She confessed that she will not be that itty bitty girl (like Paris Hilton) and wants to keep her curves. She also confessed hitting the gym 5 times a week (which is very good btw). I definitely salute Jen for this hard work and keeping her curves. Thin is so last season ;-)

Kylie Jenner (the kardashians half sister) has proven that gorgeousness do run in their genes. First time photo shoot of Kylie proved that they are all photogenic. Who would have thought that shes only 13? Love Kylies smokey eyes and outfits in this shoot and also the facial expression. Black and white never fails.

False Lashes

I will use Kim K as my model for this topic as she always has the perfect length and volume of false lashes.

Most eyelashes are sold with a complimentary lash glue. But I would recommend that you buy a tube of a professional eyelash glue, that is sold separatelt, from any quality make up store, because these complimentary glue dont adhere very well. There are 3 types of glue:

Standard glue, which is white and dries clear. Waterproof and higher strength, also white in colour and dries clear. I would recommend this glue for the heavy lash that needs more support. Black eyelash glue. I definitely recommend this when using a black liquid eyeliner or a black smoky eye shadow as it will be undetectable, unliek the clear-drying glue which you might be able see in black.

False lashes are like shoes-they either fit or they don't. If they don't fit correctly, they are uncomfortable, they can fall off or worse, they will look fake when you dont want them to. Most women don't realise that lashes, when applied by professionals, are measured to fit your exact lash line. This involves measuring the lash line and comparing it with the length of the false lash, and if its too long or too short either the false lash has to be cut, or single lashes need to be added. You can do this yourself. Remember that 80 percent of lashes will fit all eye shapes, but if the ones you buy are too long, then all you need to do is cut them. Below are the list of Do's and Dont's:

Dont:
-Overuse glue, as it will not dry and can go into your eyes
-apply the last if the glue is too wet; just squeeze tiny amount onto the back of your hand and wait for it to get a little tacky, then apply it ot the back of the false lash-not your lash line
-trim the false lash after you have appiled it; you can cut your own lashes (this is strictly done by professionals only)
-use lashes that are too heavy for your natural lashes to hold as they drag your lash down
-apply lashes too far out on your lash line if you have rounded eyes as they will drag your lash line down

Do:
-curl your own lashes before applying falsies; if you attempt it afterwards, you can rip them off
-check the base of the lash; for example, if the lash (being a full lash) has a black line at its base, remember it will give you the look of an eyeliner, which you may or may not want
-paint the base after the applicaton if its white (use a liquid liner)

My worst and best picks for the 2010 AMA

Katy Perry. This has got to be my fave amongst all. Colour is refreshing and it fits well on her. Love the studded designs of jewelleries thats on her dress. Shoes are matches her dress and her skin tone. This proves that less is more. So Katy, you get 10/10

Jessica Alba. She never ceased to amaze me of how she dresses up and flaunts it. Love the whole necklace and bracelets/bangles. Big fan of the one off shoulder body fitting dress (not too sure about that bump on the side though) hair and make up are tip top good. You deserve a 9/10

Keri Hilson. I love Keri's outfit, because it well suited her and it made her look like this glam chick. Shoes and hair are on the flow as well. It deserves a 8/10

Taylor Swift. Look at that her and how she transformed, its BOOM. The dress is too simple but it does go along with the hair, shoes and her figure. Ill give her 8/10

Heidi Klum. I actually like Heidi's get up in here. The tight fitting band in the middle emphasized her curves and laces are just beautifully paterned. Heidi, you get 7/10

Rihanna. Rihanna, can carry off red hair and this red see through dress. It compliments her hair and her body. So Riri, you get 7/10

Ke$ha. Dont get the whole concept of this. Big mohawk with a dress that looks like it was made from a black plastic bag and just put black strings on it. Thats got to be a 1/10

Whitney Port. I liek this dress as it compliments Whitney's body and it flows very well. I like how the laces are set into place. The length of the dress is just right. So you get 9/10

Sheryl Crow. I would have expected more from Sheryl Crow as I know she has a very good body, but this dress do not do her any justice and simply unflattering. The colour is too old as well. Very plain and just not spot on. Sheryl, you get a 4/10

Mandy Moore. Oh Mandy, what happened to you? This dress hurts my eyes and the shoes dont mesh well with it as well. So Mandy, you get 3/10

Cristina Milian. I know that this season, laces are in trend and girl you just messed it up. The whole outfit is confusing. It has laces and some metallic material going on and it screams the word OH look at me. I love the shoes though. So Cristina, you get a 6/10

Natasha Bedingfield. Ok, from the start this singer didnt really have any fashion sense so I would not blame her for stealing her grandmas pashmina and attached it to her black dress. I think Natasha is a lovely pretty girl and this dress made her old. So for you Natasha, it's 5/10

Fergie from BEP. I love the metallic material on this body hugging dress, but I personally think its more fitting to a music video than an awards night. I like it on her and it suits her (just dont get why shes posing too hard for it) So for you Fergie, ill give you an 8/10

Ok. I know it doesnt take a fashion scientist to know whether you have hit it or missed the memo of your dress. There will always be brave artists/celebrities out there who will take the risk of looking like a total flop. Here are my picks for the 2010 AMA, Who wore it and who ditched their fashion stylist.

Been a fan of Nicki Minaj and her music for quite sometime now. Nicki Minaj is famous for her songs, weird get ups in music videos and her PINK lips. Ive always admire other women for their beauty and elegance. I wish I lived in the 70's-80's so I could have experienced the time when these women existed. For me, they express sophistication, elegance, glamour and beauty. I have always admire Audrey, Marilyn, Veronica, and Grace Kelly (what gorgeous names as well).

Audrey known for the influence of LBD (little black dress) and a humanitarian. Marilyn, known for the influence of the white halter neck dress and the uber kissable red ruby lips. Veronica for her one sided wavy hair and strong eyes and lips and being this infamous pin up model, Grace Kelly for her undying sophistication and beauty and being a the princess of Monaco.

These women expressed what less is more.

It sort of disturbs me when young women in this generation thinks that the all glamorous perfect models in magazine are perfect. Im talking about celebrities and models looking so airbrush and all done up in a shoot for magazines. I just wanna stress out that this is the power of make up and photoshop and I myself do not have a perfect skin. Young women nowadays want to be their fave models and celebrities. Beauty now is distorted because of what we see in the magazine, billboards and ads. Take a look at some famous celebrity without make up ;-)
